Great tips here, Patti. Thanks for sharing!

Being immunocompromised, I started drinking room-temperature lemon water in the morning for Vitamin C and other health benefits. After reading this, I will 'turn up the temperature.'

Definitely turn up the temp! So far I love doing it, I feel so much more hydrated, especially in the early morning and at night.

Thank you for the knowledge Patti! You should look into Roatan, Honduras too!

You are an angel. I was thinking today I needed to check out another option in that part of the world. Thank you, Melinda!! (Was Roatan where the images were taken on your trip?) (If, so, gorgeous!!)

Those pictures were from the Dominican Republic. Parts of The D.R. are very nice! Another place you could look at. Hurricanes happen often though. Roatan is just as beautiful, inexpensive, rarely has a hurricane, has a large, thriving expat community (I have friends that live there full time and love it!). Best of all, you can actually own property there. Aruba and Curacao are wonderful, much more expensive though. Research them. I'm sure you'll find a place that you love and will fit your lifestyle! 🥰

D.R. is out, you’re spot on, too many hurricanes. And now that I know you have friends there, haha, I have a new resource to explore. I’m having a lot of fun exploring the different countries even before getting on the plane. Owning property is huge, even better, and one of my criteria. The other is that I want to live in a Spanish-speaking country. I don’t speak it that great but I understand it and feel very comfortable in the culture. Thanks for the ideas!! 😍

The idea of relocating to another country is fascinating, but it’s out of the question for my wife and me because of failing health and other reasons. The nutrition tips were fantastic. Here’s my own personal strategy: Eat Your Water. By this I mean consume lots of foods with a high liquid content. There is a difference between drinking plain or flavored water and getting your hydration in your food. It has something to do with the surface tension of water. Water drunk by itself has a tendency to go through your system quickly and be excreted quickly with a lower chance of getting into your cells where you need it to go. Water in foods with a high liquid content tends to make it into your cells and stay there longer, which can be great for your skin, joints and organs. My favorite high-liquid foods are bananas, blueberries, salads and grapes. I’m 67 years old and I never get constipated, and I’m seldom thirsty and guzzling water after my moderate exercise. Incorporating these foods into my diet has helped me to get more rest and to feel more energetic and lighter on my feet. There are so many choices with high-liquid foods that practically everyone can take advantage of this healthy way to get your water and your fiber too!

Raphael, good one! I know about high-liquid foods bur rarely get past cucumbers, strawberries and iceberg lettuce. Two out of the three I don't like eating but do so when forced. I just looked more choices and found a few I had no idea were in this category (zucchini, tomatoes, and apples). It'll be easier incorporating this concept if I enjoy, and many I do. Great suggestion, thank you!!

I understand the limitations of thinking of relocating to another country with major health issues. I'm bordering with this osteoporosis mess, but I found someone who is up on the latest in treating it, so I'm hopeful I won't be the reason we can't move. This is something I want to experience badly enough I'm going to find a way to do it, and maybe it won't be my forever place, but even a year or two is better than not doing it at all. We shall see!

Awesome info. Going to try the orange + hot water for a snack. I’m a snack fiend. Getting ready to do a 10-day cleanse — right after the next Christmas party. 😂 {{Hugs}}
