The picture with you and Buffy is adorable. 😍 It's unfortunate that things didn't work out between you and Bo. You did the right thing in returning Bo. So, you might be heading to Portugal. I will be staying tuned. 🙂

Yes, I did the right thing as much as it hurt. And stay tuned, one never knows where we'll end up. Thank you for your kind words. ❤️

Hi! oh, I love dogs also! We have had two together and both of them at the end had pretty horrible passings so we made the decision two years ago when we put our beloved Buster Posey down to get another dog. Fortunately, there are a lot of dogs where we live, and we get a lot of dog love daily in our walks first thing in the morning in our neighborhood. Dogs are great, but they don’t live long enough!

Dog love is the best. I know more about the dogs in my neighborhood than I do the neighbors. You know I've wanted one for so long, but they take a lot of commitment - and until we figure out where we're moving to, a cat might be on our agenda!

What breed of dogs were they?

The first one was a mix from the San Francisco SPCA, and was given to me for Christmas after my father died by my stepchildren! that was the best gift they ever gave me! he was great and probably a mix of shepherd and golden retriever, but maybe chow chow too? he was a character and very sweet. The second one was also a rescue border collie Australian shepherd mix. Smarter than he should’ve been and smarter than both of us probably! very very energetic and in retrospect probably not the right dog for us. Came from a rescue place, but they said he was an Australian Shepherd and he was for sure. Mostly border collie. Super intense dog, but very sweet also. Their devotion is unequaled!

Wow, what a special gift of love.

So far I had to give up two puppies due to the energy factor, the circumstances were best for the dogs. I caught a lot of guff for doing so, but better right away, once they're your kids it wouldn't be right for all. And for the animal's emotional and physical well-being before my own, which has come back to bite me a couple of times (no pun intended).

It really was the nicest gift from them! Dogs are a huge commitment on so many levels but pretty sure we have had our last one. I do not have the stamina anymore to do it!

typical of how I live my life, I do things backwards, like getting a dog in later years, luckily I do have the stamina, but only time will tell if the right circumstances present.

oh that's such a heartfelt story. I think i know where the story is heading now (saying this as a wiseass audience spectating the big screen of life_ ... you'll FIRST make the move, before the DOGGO arrives.

That must be it!

The move, find my happy place, find the right dog or two... Decided they need companionship too... Happy ending. Thanks for reading and responding HyaenaDad... Didn't have to search for spelling this time around :)
